A Westpac study has found women are increasingly looking after joint monetary funds in relationships, and many of them are worried.
Four in ten women surveyed said their partners are reckless spenders, while one in five women said they don't trust their partners entirely with shared finances.
"Couples talk about other values such as attitudes about having children before they settle down, yet often neglect discussing whether they are on the same page about money," relationship psychologist John Aiken told the Herald Sun.
"If one person is hiding money or overly protective about it, going forward in a relationship can be difficult."
