The shocked shopper stumbled across the "Control-A-Woman" toy in a Borders bookstore after attending an International Women's Day lunch.

The toy is styled on a television remote, with command buttons to get a woman to do a number of chores, as well as forgive, forget and increase their breast size.

The offended has written a formal complaint, saying the product is chauvinistic.

"I'm troubled by this item, mainly because it encourages a stereotype of women as submissive, who are to be controlled," she told ABC Radio.

Borders book store says the novelty gift is intended as a joke, and that the related "Control-A-Man" version has sold out.
